Auto-Generate Weekly Staff
Shift Schedules & Export to Excel
Stop wasting hours on roster spreadsheets. Input staff availability and constraints — get a conflict-free weekly schedule in seconds.
▶ Open Tool NowHow to Use — Step by Step
👥 Register Staff & Set Roles
In the Staff Management tab, add each team member with their name and role (Manager or Staff). Managers can be flagged as required on specific shift slots.
📅 Set Availability & Max Shifts
For each staff member, check their unavailable days (Mon–Sun) and set the maximum weekly shifts they can work (e.g., max 5 days). The scheduler will strictly respect these limits.
⏰ Define Shift Slots & Coverage Rules
Under Shift Settings, configure your daily time windows (Open, Mid, Close — or create custom slots). For each slot, set the required number of workers and whether a manager must be present.
⚡ Auto-Generate the Schedule
Click 'Auto-Generate'. A local constraint-satisfaction algorithm runs entirely in your browser and produces a valid schedule that satisfies all rules within seconds — no server, no waiting.
✏️ Fine-Tune & Export to Excel
Manually reassign shifts by clicking any cell in the weekly grid. Red Warning Badges appear instantly if a change violates rules (e.g., scheduling someone on their day off). When satisfied, click 'Export to Excel' to download a styled .xlsx file via SheetJS.
💡 Tips & FAQ
- Is staff data uploaded anywhere? No. Your employee names, availability, and schedules are processed entirely in your browser's local sandbox — nothing is transmitted externally.
- What if no valid schedule exists? The tool will notify you if constraints are too tight (e.g., not enough available staff). Try relaxing max-shift limits or adding more employees.
- Can I save and reload a schedule? Export to Excel as your save format. Re-import it next week and adjust dates/availability as needed.
- Does it support overnight shifts? Currently the tool is optimized for same-day shift windows. Overnight spans should be split across two consecutive day slots.
